Zack’s Place and The ArtistTree in Woodstock, are proud to announce the showing of fine art work by the participants of The Zack’s Place Artist Guild. This art exhibit was facilitated by Kyuhee Lee Bussod, artist and Director of the Zack’s Place art program. The artists are versed in different mediums, including paper mâché and felt, as well as oils, tie-dyes, pastels and pencil. Their creations are the product of pure emotional expression using a variety of techniques such as painting to music, three dimensional sculpting, group creations, cartoons, or a combination of these and other processes.
For our artists, normal activities are often challenging as some have little or no muscular control, while others are limited to non-verbal expression. Some Guild members are highly gifted but face daunting social challenges. For all, creating art represents a unique opportunity to experience the freedom to express themselves, and provide an emotional safe haven devoid of boundaries and limitations.
